Mr. Feldstein has been living the good life too long and is disconnected from the average American who relies heavily on Social Security for their retirement and Medicare for healthcare.

WSJ used be respected. Now they are a propaganda machine for the rich and large corporations. A pity.

Congress spent the money they swore would be in a “lockbox” for those of us who paid in: crooks.

And why is social security part of the debt problem? If congress paid back the money they have misappropriated from social security it would stand alone and be in good financial condition.

Social security shouldn’t be touched unless it’s to ensure it pays out 100%. Medicare should be extended to every single citizen of the US, with the importation of drugs to Canada and the ability for the US government to negotiate prices.

1% sales tax on goods and services . Goes directly to pay down 20 trillion debt. Congress can’t touch it. What will USA look like no debt to China, no borrowing, and debt paid off?? Utopia.

How Socia Security is part of our " bulk debt problem"? That's moneys individually contributed towards our retirements. Is not an ENTITLEMENT IS A RIGHT. is OUR MONEY.
