If you are an honors student look for a "full ride" scholarship at a tier 1 or Ivy League university. Trade schools were meant as a quick way for unskilled workers to gain the skills they need for a job that pays above the poverty line.

Trade schools are often used as a medium for private businesses (for profit) to obtain Federal and State funds allocated towards improving the education level of society. They do this by getting students to take out student loans that can not be discharged in a bankruptcy.

They also request the maximum amount available to a student through the Pell Grant which is approximately $4,000 a year in free money almost everybody qualifies for. The money needs to go towards education though.

Like all Federal Grants, the Pell Grant does not ever need to be paid back to the Federal Government. Maxing out a Pell Grant award means there is no money available to go to a better school or you have to wait a year before transferring.

You'll notice the program length for many trade schools coincides with the maximum length for an able bodied, single and mentally healthy welfare recipient to receive benefits which is about 9 months.

The length of an average trade school program also coincides with the gestation period for a human so someone that gets fired from a low skill job right when they find out about a pregnancy can obtain a better career prospect before the child arrives.

Specifically for the young lady in the article. You can make up to $86,000 per year with only a high school diploma in the USA. This will allow you to work on diesel engines on the weekend as a hobby, afford a house and have no debt. @usedgov @realDonaldTrumppic.twitter.com/NyKVv6uEW4

First time buyers programs will also allow you to purchase a house easily, normally after 2 years of steady income.

Agreed, but people who graduate college usually know how to spell it, so there is that.

trade school means a lifetime of being lower class living on suppressed wages, competing with immigrants and slave labor. means being a second class citizen and treated as such. meanwhile corporate profits skyrocket and you and your family scrape by.

An honest living is always better than a needless, proliferation of degrees that lead to no jobs. The fact that trade schools aren't being propped up more by public schools is proof that they are designed to make ignorant voters easy to abuse and not to educate.

Isn’t it rotten of @IvankaTrump, who had the opportunity to go to college without earning a penny of the cost, to tell everyone else they shouldn’t aspire to college? Prison would be good for her. She might have a chance to develop some character there. #maga
