It’s funny how HRC can spend 81 million on FB ads and the msm will complain about less than a million dollars in ads bought by the Russians. It’s either you guys are amazingly stupid or deliberately sensationalizing a nothing story

"Played it down" is a whitewash. They knew what was going on and allowed it to continue because they were making money. FB is complicit.

Mark Zuckerberg should resign and hand over Facebook to a capable and better CEO, which he is not.

Overall solid reporting. One major gripe I have with it is how the article mentions that “It isn’t clear whether the Russian activity on Facebook made a difference in the election...” which is a sharp deviation from reports from other credible publishers (ex: NYT).

It’s important to note that Russian activity on Facebook in fact did have an impact on the democratic election. The scale of the impact is what is unclear. Article does feature a Sheryl Sandburg quote that demonstrates the interference though. Overall well written

Yes Mark tell us about this. And about your new policies that make it a little more difficult for organisations promoting Palestinian emancipation to be visible?

There was nothing to "play down", only to inflate. http://www.moonofalabama.org/2017/10/3000-facebook-ads-the-russian-influence-campaign-is-a-profitable-click-bait-scheme.html …
