        Because Xi has no choice. He needs to push through reforms to literally save the country and consolidating power is the only way to guarantee that

        True problem is that isn’t how China has worked Chinas economic problems, while it doesn’t get much publicity in the US or Europe is pretty severe and Xi thinks he needs to consolidate power in order to push through these reforms
