So the person who controls 10% of Afghanistan, has extended an offer for talks to those, who control 90% of Afghanistan. Isn’t that the case?

The only reason Taliban last and regain power this long, is the support of Pakistan and the sympathy of Pashtun Presidents. Because majority of Taliban are Pashtuns, otherwise, they been already wiped out. Majority of people in AFG hate the notorious group of Taliban

if making the Taliban a political party means tying them up in rhetorical ineptitude like Dems and GOP then why wait?

Why would Taliban who controls 70% of Afghanistan accept conditions of a government who have control on 30% of Afghanistan and that too is shared between warlords and are qorking under U.S. and Nato . Its disgusting and stupid

Impossible to expect Taliban to stick to peaceful ways or accept civilian government authority. They aim to establish puppet Islamist regime in Kabul dancing to the tunes of fidayeen Pakistan army. Ghani isn't realistic.

It’s also possible they can come & join as a political party like Mujahideen did. Both behaved the same way but in different time with different name(killed & destroyed)Now Mujahideen have good image in the current society.I am sure they will have the same chance to build careers

I remember during Mujahideen time the same thing happened & Dr. Najib asked today(champions & elders like Hakmatyar, Rabni,Masood and Sayaf) who were behaving like current Taliban to come but they didn’t until they killed thousands & destroyed the country.
