Lunch this week with an elderly loyal party member here in the States visiting family. He confided that "everyone disapproves of Xi's autocracy", himself included.

XI's popularity in China is based on their TV Programs – from what I have seen all Propaganda for the 'great Chinese life' and very anti-American. The people believe it all, their problem is of not having DSTV. Outside Beijing the people are terribly poor, it is very Third World.

No he is not popular in China. It just seems to be on the official TV programs. Educated Chinese people know clearly what's happening but cannot speak out. Tonight on China's social media every comment about this news is deleted by gov even pictures of Pooh

From today, users cannot change their account profiles including images, status and signatures on all China's social media, given an excuse of "product update". Only comments supporting this proposal are left visible, which are wrote by gov hired agents.
