Beware: your waitress or cashier may think it's play money. A cashier refused a $2 bill for just that reason. Who knows? Even the mgr may be that unlearned. Make sure that whoever you give it to knows it's genuine US currency. #money

I bring crisp $2 bills when I go to Ecuador, where they use the American dollar. Some people have never actually see one and get very excited when you pay for something with it.

A friend of mine gave me a $2 bill to keep in my wallet as a good luck charm. You never want to spend it, and so you always have money in your wallet.

Useless in most places outside the US, even if all other transactions are in the US$: they gladly take Benjamins, dislike twenties, reject $2 bills. I tried.

Also useful for taping to the front door of companies that have just had a fire sale. https://goo.gl/images/6ixUow

My father and many of his generation, considered the two dollar bill "bad luck" and refused to carry them though, I am not sure why. I have had young cashiers hand them back thinking they are fake or a joke. I very rarely see one nowadays.
