American society is so pathetic and so wrong. Stricter gun control would solve the problem but Americans are too feeble minded to see this.

your missing the point, the goal should be to aim for homicide-free ed environment not to increase the risk, occurrences

Just read a nyt piece that said insurers are hiking rates or denying coverage outright to school boards that allow employees to carry guns.

And the minute an AR-15 is in their face they will need to make the decision .... Am I ready to die? They don't pay teachers enough and a handgun is no match for an AR-15. Peddling this will not get enough support from teachers.pic.twitter.com/QnPsKnydgY

"Hand gun is no match" lol Do you think that an AR-15 makes you bullet proof, puts a shield around you? No, a trained person behind a pistol can out gun someone with a rifle.
-
Not at all but when the person wearing body armor and helmet has an AR 15 ..... I don't think most teachers want to go up against that and that's not what they are there for. Guard at Parkland was trained and he knew better ... wasn't prepared to die.
-
Body armor will only stop a bullet. The energy still goes into your body and causes damage. Getting shot with body armor on is equivalent of getting hit by a major league fastball.
-
I know that. So are we giving teachers handguns and rifles to battle AR-15s or are we entrusting them to be good shots with time to aim? Please, there was a trained guard at the school with a gun. You wanna do this on your job? Teachers for the majority do not want this.
-
I would love to do this job. I spent 6 years in the army. I would never pull a gun on any shooter because if the shooter knew I was armed and guarding the school the possibility of me shooting back would prevent them from attacking. This is a proactive not reactive measure.
-
Good for you and thank you for your service. Dad is a living WWII Vet. I own a gun & not opposed 2 people having a gun for hunting or self protection. However, arming teachers is a reaction 2 a problem not a solution and police don't like. Start with banning assault weaponspic.twitter.com/WwBiEF8os8

Assault weapons are not a defined class of weapon. Tot can get the exact same rifle one made with wood and the other made with plastic. One will be called an assault weapon the other won't.
