I'm proud that if nothing else our teens are excepting the reality that they are not going to be collateral damage for the NRA

If you will do a little fact checking you will find that the NRA was the sponsor of instant-background legistlation that politicians have repeatedly failed to implement fully and NRA announced even b4 this free program to help schools. NRA only one NOT just giving lip service.

I'm sure you only read/watch MSM so you're not seeing the whole story. Just watched ANOTHER video of teen that was there saying that she was sure that had her teacher been armed she would done more than hover over her students in fear but would have actually protected them.

Who? Sorry but I'm listening to the kids on this one. Not everyone is capable of taking a life which is what your asking a teacher to do. Police have slow response because now they don't know who's the good guys with the guns and who's the bad guys with the guns. #GunReformNow

So 1) You're listening to SOME kids 2) You're deeming EVERY teacher incapable of killing a killer - expect more than a few would be offended byt that 3) you're a mind reader now - not even Sheriff Israel has given a reason for why the duputy failed to act as trained.

I think it speaks volumes when people would rather listen to kids about policy than discuss with the adults.

To those responders saying this negates the security guard - teachers with guns argument; I politely disagree. The shooters pick gun free locations for a reason, they’re cowards. The threat of armed security is enough deterrent - even if some protectors R less brave than others.

There was literally an armed security officer on campus. The killer started shooting anyway. See also: Columbine, Ft Hood, Virginia Tech, Umpqua Community College, etc. There is literally zero evidence to back up your assertion, and many examples to disprove it.

I think Stephen’s point is “an” security guard..singular! A well planned attack from someone who knows the layout and activities of the school definitely has the advantage. Is that ok with you? Someone’s kid, mother, aunt, brother, father, etc are there.

His point was that armed security is a deterrent. Demonstrably, it is not.

All of the venues and places that are secured with armed officers to keep the peace (deterrent) and the peace has been kept is actually very demonstrative.

This is just more proof that more guns does not solve the problem. Even trained professionals freeze under pressure. The only solutions is to make it harder to get guns in the first place.

Jeff Tubin on CNN said no team of officers could take out a shooter already in the building. So Jeff just let him run around until he runs out of ammo ? Listen to Tubin switch topic to arming teachers
