Is there evidence for this? Are teachers going to carry AR-15 rifles?Other steps are supported by evidence.

None. Even highly trained police officers are only 18% accurate in active shooter situations. http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/downloads/pdf/public_information/RAND_FirearmEvaluation.pdf …

What is a "weapons talented" teacher? I'm way more concerned with teachers being able to - now stick with me - educate the next generation without having to also stay on high alert for the next massacre.

Very bad idea. Teachers do not need guns. Ban assault rifles.

Trump is sick to even contemplate this. Did NRA pay him, I wonder?

Yes, the people who've shot up schools we call crazy and mentally unstable yet the rationale is they'll think logically before entering a school where the teachers are armed? Wow!

All this is going to do is get teachers shot when the police arrived. Throw more guns at this problem is like throwing grease on a fire.
