@wmata needs to develop a work ethic and be held accountable for entrenched violations of federal hiring law. They need to be held accountable for squandering funds they have.

We visited last summer and were told by many that the trains had not been running on time. One tour guide was late because of it and museum employees told us not to count on posted schedules. Riders must have reliable transportation.

This is the daily problem for us commuters. A majority of the week, it’s more unreliable than reliable. Add to that further work when last year we were told it would be completed by 2017, and it’s a frustrating situation that money alone can’t solve.

Sorry to know it is such a problem for commuters. Wouldn't it be wise to first run on time and then invest in upgrades? Reliable public transportation keeps our cities running so we don't all suffer with gridlock.

The problem is the system is in such decay because of poor management that we deal with weekly fires, derailings, etc. So they can’t even get to a standard of being on time because management has so poorly taken care of the infrastructure.

I've voted Republican since Nixon but if GOP wants to raise the gas tax to pay for anything but roads and bridges I'll stay home in November.

Maybe bring in private enterprise, and auction off advertising wall space, or naming rights for stops ? Get a little innovative capitalism going for a change.

Our Metro infratructure is third-world level. I almost always opt to walk. I’ve taken Metro maybe 10 times in the past year and half those times trains stopped running and I ended up walking 2+ miles anyway.

It is not even safe. A guy approached me last week in an inappropriate manner at a metro station and I felt really uncomfortable. There was no security guard there, if it isn’t because another person saw what happened, who knows if the story would have end up in a good way.
