If your son "had a key to the "gun safe" that you didnt know about", what does that say about your ability to safely store firearms within your own household? Its the typical delusion of a gun owner, i have everything under control until little jamie starts shooting up the school

These two are on full blown damage control. He “put two and two” together the morning of the shooting when the cops called. That means he knew something was wrong with the kid. They are trying to CYA. They failed to monitor this kid, and they failed to make sure the gun was secure

Mental illness legislation with long term institutional treatment and care is the solution. Why is nobody willing to speak about that? Is our countries leadership and media so insane and so uneducated that they cannot grasp basics?

the shooter is the only 1 who should get blamed, he's not diff like a serial killer, inhuman.

Where there is a will there's a way. The problem is with people NOT guns. If it wasn't a gun it would have been a bomb if not a bomb it would have been a car! It isn't the tool a person uses to kill it's the person !

So many avenues failed these children that were killed by this monster. He was known to the police, reported to the FBI and the other children knew something wasn't quite right. Yet he had guns, at least 5, at the age of 19. We HAVE to do SOMETHING to fix this broken system!!!

Father should face criminal charges; you own a gun, you should be responsible for everything it does. Obviously his negligent gun ownership allowed murderer Cruz to obtain a weapon. Liability Insurance must be required as a condition of sale for all guns, same as cars.

There is no legal negligence here. The guy is an adult, they aren't his guardians. They were doing him a favor letting him live there.

They are neither parents nor guardians. They're just good people who tried to help out a guy, and he only lived there a few months. It's not so cut and dry.

I see your point. Yes we need more such "good people" that didn't know their house guest was an armed time bomb waiting to kill? Let's see, 15 times police were summoned to this home. Witnesses saw him shooting neighborhood pets, fighting at school. He was filmed slicing himself.

That's exactly what I'm saying. They didn't know. You think they would knowingly put their own kids in jeopardy to take in a friend? No. Nobody would. The actions of the Sneads afterward are consistent with shock and hurt, not with complacency or complicity.
