They have it. They drilled AT THIS SCHOOL. And so did the shooter.

No, schools need gun laws reformed, not teaching them how to be better at hiding from people trying to kill them.

Even with gun reform active shooter drills are still a good idea. Why is proactively preparing for disaster a bad idea in any case?

Found Freedom, when we get to the point where there *are* gun regulations, especially over guns meant for mass casualties, in ALL states we'll talk about what is proactive. Meanwhile, I'll keep teaching kids that someone could come in and shoot them. Just another day.

Schools HAVE active shooter drills. Watching my 5 year old giggle as she tells me they hide quietly and pull books over their heads is NOT OK.

At least she isn’t traumatized by the drills yet. I remember being her age and doing “duck & cover” not knowing why we were doing it. Another school shooting is far more likely than a nuke strike. Sadly.

Indeed. But I’ve talked with my 7 year old about why they have drills. It’s incredibly difficult to explain that his school does everything it can do to keep him safe. His brain understands this. He hasn’t questioned why these people are able to get guns in the first place, yet.

We’re not all geniuses. Point A to point B doesn’t register for some of us until we’re less self absorbed. All about growing up.

No NRA needs to be disbanded and sale of guns banned to general public.

No, they don't. Their only concern should be to study. What you do need in the US is strict gun control.

We already have active shooter drills. Where is everyone’s head? Up there asses? Apparently we don’t do drills & teacher should be strapped.

We have fire drills, lock downs, evacuation drills, shelter in place - 15 a year. Its hard enough to fit curriculum in between the S.W.A.T. reenactments as it is.
