South Korea has an important goal for the second week of the #Olympics. It needs to fill seats at empty venueshttp://on.wsj.com/2Gg0vzG

I’m watching the ice dance final and there are still so many empty seats, it’s ridiculous. I think the Winter Olympics should be held only in North America, where people are really interested and would attend. Just my opinion...

Why just North America? Totally agree it’s a farce seeing the empty seats this year but there are huge swathes of Europe who are just as in love with Winter sports as North Americans!

Hi Becky. No disrespect intended, especially as I’m originally a Brit. The same issue happened in Sochi, so I find it frustrating. I don’t really care which country as long as there’s a guarantee of good facilities, weather & MUCH better attendance. The SK crowds are sad 😞

Totally agree. Be interesting to know more about the real problem - is it just disinterest? Prices and venues being prohibitive for local audiences? Too many corporate or international federation tickets given out and not used? I suspect it's a combination of all three.

A combination of factors I’m sure. As in previous games, they’re claiming to have a lot of NO SHOWS, but why I wonder? And you’d think there’d been enough ppl in SK to fill them for free at this point. I think in prime spots in N America or Europe this wouldn’t happen!😬😡

Yep, they'd be queuing up desperate to get in to watch anything!

South Korea needs to cozy up to Kim Un and Yo so they will allow North Koreans to attend the Olympics and fill the stadiums.
