“Mercedes was convinced we should teach Americans to drink their coffee at home,” says Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche. “Obviously, that didn’t work out so well”http://on.wsj.com/2GhYNxp

If like it if mercedes would design cup holders that have 4 sides, rather than 3 like the one in my R class. Took an on ramp last week and projectile coffee mug at 6:45 am. You can tell I don't commute much

That sounds really stupid and condescending. Teaching adults crap when they are super busy and not trying to cater to a car makes zero sense. Objects are here to help humans.

Those Starbucks lids are so flimsy. Be careful when lifting it out of cup holder. My lid came off and I spilled boiling hot coffee all over myself.

Cupholders (deep enough so they don’t tip over), easy access USB ports, and some compartments to put things in. Love engine performance but need these too. Walked away from Tesla because if it. Staying with BMW - and hoping they improve. Not giving up my coffee!

There can never be too many. Commutes get longer and the need to hold all sorts of items gets greater. How as an owner of a Mercedes, I can attest their provision of holders is clearly reluctant and frugal.

Not just coffee cups. I often notice water bottles in cars while walking to work.
