Opinion: The U.S. prides itself on being a nation of immigrants. But contrary to common belief, the pace of immigration to America is modest by international standards, writes @BillGalstonhttp://on.wsj.com/2Ea5yoq

Canada doesn’t border Mexico, eh. Makes immigration easier when you can approve hard working Euros & Asians vs the daily border storm

Try again. Putting an "eh" in your reply doesn't make it any smarter. There are illegal immigrants to Canada too; MANY overstay their tourist visas, with many obtaining citizenship in less-than-appropriate means and then freeloading off of taxpayers. The struggle is equally real

Like that doesn’t exist in the states? Difference is Canada does not border a 3rd world country in which illegals flood in on foot. Makes the Canadian issue easier to manage.

It means we need to change our “brand”, change our history, and admit we are no longer a democracy.

Not true. Vast majority of countries have limitations. And we are the only country who do the “anchor baby”.
