Perhaps they are planning to endorse #MedicareForAll? If the goal is to cut out middlemen and rein in the Pharma lobby, that would do it.

You have to put the responsibility for taking wallet out of pocket and paying back on the patient. Otherwise it is hopeless.

That is impossible under our current system because the patient has no way to compare prices between providers.

They could ask! If the patient can’t compare, why assume Big Brother would do better?

Under national health, we could negotiate with hospitals as All Americans. For example, knee replacement would cost a certain set rate, with some variable for cost of living in different regions.

Yes indeed BUREAUCRATS would! Not “we.” Government is notoriously inefficient because they are spending other people’s money and are nameless, faceless people with no real attachment to patients. The result is horrible.

At least we can fire public officials if they screw up. Under corporate rule The People have zero say, and the Insurance and Pharma lobbies set the prices. Lose-lose.

At least if we don't like one company's product, we can choose another company! At least if the government bureaucrats keep their big ham fists and jackboots out of it.
