Can we not get officers to shoot not to kill?
Absolutely not. If you'd ever shot a gun you know how easy it is to miss. You're basically risking the life of others if you try to shoot to injure. Plus you're never supposed to point your gun at anything you aren't willing to kill or destroy
Understood! Just wish it was another alternative other than shooting to kill.
And if police officers were allowed to shoot to injure there'd definitely be a higher number of police related kills. But I see where you're coming from. Hopefully we will see better police practices/policy in the future.
Its unfortunate but these guys have to do their job. Pepper spray next time maybe. Oddly, since the news didn't report his race we can assume he wasn't black.
A knife is just as deadly as a gun in the wrong hands. Don’t criticize the police until you have faced a nut case with a knife!
Glad to know you are ok officer
