One of the most amazing things about Federer is that he has been grinding it out, playing against the best players week in and week out, for many years, and he never really had any serious injuries.

The concept of aging must be reformulated. Federer shows that elite athletes can keep being at their peak after 30.

Athletes will start to perform at a higher level later in their careers, as a result of better diets and better exercise/physio regiments. This trend is showing with the likes of Tom Brady, Serena Williams & Roger Federer, and it will only continue.
