Are you kidding? They never even wanted to. China is all about bringing hard currency into their country, & laundering the rest on global real estate.

For 10 years I have advised client companies, brands, retailers, investors and governments that: "China is not Westernizing, it is modernizing, don't confuse the two and plan your organization and offerings accordingly."

who believed that "convergence" was in the plan? It was never going to happen. Sounds like theory of people on drugs.

By all measures China is an imperialist, censorious and a belligerent nation. Greedy US companies are taking advantage of China's authoritarian and suppressive regime. China isn't like the West is precisely why US companies are all investing $trillions there.

so the multinational companies really hold power if they would just uphold higher values rather than bowing down to China's oppression & global plans 1. Multinational Corp could turn the tides if they protect People before profits 2. we consumers can avoid companies who bow down

China never aims being West. How naive this idea is. Democracy kills CCP, whose anti-civilization character will never change. Whoever is evil, CCP support it, such as NK, ISIS, Sadam, Mogabe, you name it!

China has games the world since 1972. They had a long term plan in place. Time to shut them off, just like Russia. Bad behavior can’t be rewarded

Duh. Whoever thought it was - the Dims? All politicians should require a reality check before assuming office. Serve your constituents first, last and always. Practice Utopianism in your home, not in office.

Meh. Seems dramatic, like you're overstating the promise it was showing but also overstating withdrawal from that promise. Like "O it was going to be amazing but now that's gone forever." It kind of reminds me of this guy:pic.twitter.com/SRt0BAsdGn

This is the very reason why the US foreign Policy is not like anyone's else in the world: did the US think that making Arab, Chilean and Cuban thinkings of money would make them like the US? Like, as if the transfer of money for goods would make sea peoples see only money as good
