Those who have paid the price and re-entered society shouldn’t be allowed to vote?

That's not my point, it's that Florida is a swing state and felons overwhelmingly vote Democrat. They're trying to speed up the process to restore voting rights in time for the next presidential election.

Why do they overwhelmingly vote Democrat? If Republicans supported restoration of rights, would that not invoke some degree of loyalty? (Honest ?, no snark)

It's because they're more likely to be a minority and/or poor, and because the democrats have the monopoly on promising ever-expanding social programs that those groups disproportionately use, they pull their votes.

Surely there is a way to improve messaging, understand it would take years. The attraction to expanding entitlements I just can’t fathom, but def see what you mean. Massive appeal to a lot. But stuff like this further solidifies Dem alliance. Got to be a way to get out front..

I think Trump has the right message: Improve the economy & create jobs, kick out welfare-dependent illegals working under the table & lowering job value, lower taxes so more $ stays with the people, eliminate govt waste so tax $ goes to better & more efficient programs. Populism.

Voting is a privilege, bestowed on law abiding citizens Criminals will mostly vote liberal. What does that tell you? Once they complete parole, then they get their orivledge back. Same with welfare. To avoid voting benefits- you should not be able to vote

Because those who have paid the price shouldn’t be allowed to vote again? We should extend it to every violation. “Speeding ticket? You broke the law, so no more voting for you.”

Let me guess. Democrats support this, and Republicans oppose it? We can’t have any more pesky traditionally Democratic supporters voting anywhere, now can we?
