Tariffs always a bad idea in a world economy.

Tough one: (A) Pay higher price for solar panels from China to cover the tariff (B) Erect a manufacturing plant in the US that makes solar panels along with jobs, withholding tax into Federal, State and municipal budgets, earnings into our economy resulting in more jobs, etc.

Letting the ACTUAL cost of green energy production be processed by the market is how we get GENUINE supply demand energy pricing. If the industry can't "survive" w/o price lowering subsidy of sub-market foreign produced panels, shouldn't be deemed a viable industry in 1st place.

Tariffs only increase the cost to consumers. Look at the latest Obama created on foreign tires. The tires are no better or worse they just cost more to try and save some union jobs.

Bad for national security due to ageing power grid. Power monopolies scared of battery storage of power that can be sold or traded legally.

It's a very bad move in terms of National Security due to ageing power grid & potential #Hacked networks. Solar energy independence is being stifled due to the power company's Monopoly being threatened by storage of electricity on batteries. Batteries can then be traded or sold

Till focus shifts away from automation except where needed for specific reasons, job creation will remain problematic! Turnover / Size ratio to no of employees directly engaged should have some scope for tax incentives!
