Typical rhetoric from south of the border. Our healthcare is about the many, not the fortunate few

Lower spending per capita doesn't necessarily equal better health care. Letting people die on waitlists is an effective way of reducing spending per capita, but not an acceptable health care outcome.

I am waiting now for a knee replacement. Was told 10 months, but I don’t have to pay for surgery and meds and physiotherapist. Ok with this.

Ask the many Americans impacted by #medicalcosts they'll never recover from - the #1 cause of bankruptcy in the USA. BTW, per WHO, Canada has better health outcomes than USA - by far.

If the system is so bad in term of waiting for the necessary treatment, then tell us a little bit more do these waiting make Canadian live longer or shorter? First guess will be Canadian will die much earlier because they can get necessary treatment in time? Is this true?

Yes this is the point. GOP should explain why a broken system can make people live longer and happier

They can't. They'll just scare the populace with stories of "death panels" and waitlists. Canada has long waitlists, because people have regular checkups, and surgeries are planned well in advance. Urgent cases are treated urgently.

Too bad the non-governing right is forcing it on us by not raising a finger to fix existing healthcare. In the end the people will demand it.
