I smell someone's paycheck here. Nobody objects to merit-based immigrants. But this has to be the last tranche of an immoral system exploiting illegals to depress labor costs. Chain migration, visa lottery, non-merit-based immigration all goes. And border security improved.

First the unemployment rate should go down to 0% then we start letting in ppl. And only skilled workers, with merit based system

Like your premise - but with only 320M peeps in the US and only 7 1/2 billion total in the world...8 Billion sounds a bit of a stretch!

The new free energy theory of the left! If you ignore externalities, all sorts of things look great. Take unlimited use of fossil fuels, for example... If anyone believes this, I’ve got a perpetual motion machine to sell you for the low low price of $999.98! Act now!

If this country didn’t have immigration our population would be shrinking. That’s one of Japan’s biggest problems...low birth rate and an aging population + a lack of immigration.
