This is not correct. Ethiopia suffers on daily basis from power shortage which is badly needed for development and investments. Egypt does not want any disruption of its water supplies though it has a huge dam in the south. Why deny to others what you enjoy for decades.

This becomes even more pathetic when you consider the fact that 85% of the Nile flows from Ethiopia. Egypt should just be quite and stop acting like a crazy bully.
