In hip-hop, a gap is emerging between young artists and "dad rappers" like Jay-Zhttp://on.wsj.com/2rdmvbJ

I'll take the poetry, thoughtful lyrics and controlling rhythm of dad rappers voices every day of the week. Eminem, Jay z, ice cube and biggie made music. Lil pump makes rated R toddler rhymes for idiots.pic.twitter.com/GsHcF4xZsl

Not sure much has changed... 1. Rappers have been sampling rock for years (Run DMC, Em, Tech N9ne, and countless others) 2. The old generation has always hated on the younger kids. And vice versa. Hip Hop at it's core is about competition.

point of the rock reference? hip-hop samples everything...anywho, this is lazy analysis of the divide. which ain't 'generational' & is about quality. #BlackThought broke twitter w/ a refreshing display of emcee skill that almost none of these new jacks have. #facts @NeilShahWSJ

Most rappers just rap about all the money they made, expensive watches and cars they bought, sexy women they date (rarely married to). Sorry but I've have no interest in that kind of music. Ps: I know there's exception but like 1 in 1K.

I listen to music, but not to rap music... still I know what's out there though, they're drug addicts, braggers and what not. I'm not saying they're the only one in the music industry, but they heavily are invested in that shit.
