        90% of the people commenting here don’t know what they are talking about. Community Reinvestment Act forces banks to be in poor neighborhoods and it forces them to give loans out, and if they don’t make enough loans, decided arbitrarily by the regulators, they get fined

        Easier for rural lower income communities more difficult for inner city communities whose banking options are the local pay day lender charging mafia rates. There was a time when oppressed communities formed their own alternative banking resources outside of existing structures.

        Thats the whole point of the existing policy.They tried to change it so the banks will loan in the lower income neighborhoods.The current admin wants to change that.No payday loans will give you a mortgage,btw.
