        From anecdotal experience I've seen much more interest simply because of the local link. People don't understand Overwatch, but can get on board with the idea of another New York team. It fosters the "us vs. them" mentality that conventional sports thrives on.

        I agree, this is what eSports have been missing to further drive interest. This is the important piece of news in terms of the overall eSports industry. However, I would also argue people *do* care about Overwatch, a player base of 35 million is not insignificant

        I don't disagree, 35 million is a large potential audience. The key is translating those player "views" into spectator views. That's OWL's test imho.
