In NY our issue is more school taxes not state taxes. It’s a local issue and until we stop paying superintendents (over 50 of them) $400k we won’t have this fixed

It's not gaming. California give tax credit for donation to Cal Grant for years. I'd rather pay my tax for California kids to go to school than give it some Red taker states.

Your free to pay California gov more than other states but not free to pay fed gov less

Californians already pay more and receive less per dollar. Why do I have to pay even moẻ?

Californians pay less to the fed gov per capita than most other states because they get to deduct state taxes. They should have completely eliminated the local tax deduction completely to make it fair for all states.

You have any data to backup your claim? The last 2015 data showed CA paid the most to the federal and 16 per capita. While the moocher states such as AL, SC, MS, WV are at the bottom of the list both in total revenue and per capita. Let me guess, you got your data from FauxNews?

Yes they did but that is combined personal and corporate. CA is not as high on the list when you consider personal only and that’s what we are discussing. Serious question. Do you believe in a progressive tax structure?

What's amazing is that at no point will people like @NYGovCuomo simply work with legislators to CUT TAXES across the board and clean up the waste/fraud/corruption/overreach of state governments. Won't even consider it.https://twitter.com/WSJ/status/949476890397507585?ref_src=twcamp%5Eshare%7Ctwsrc%5Em5%7Ctwgr%5Eemail%7Ctwcon%5E7046%7Ctwterm%5E1 …

This will just end up with a provision in federal law eliminating or severely reducing the deduction for charitable contributions. Which should have been in the current bill.
