I made more than that when I was 17 and you guys wrote about it in 2006. It was on your front page. Please don't use images like that in your post. It's degrading.pic.twitter.com/LoeN9WsbIZ

Could they really not find a photo of you? Sheeeesh
I wasn't mentioned in this article. Just pointing out that whoever wrote this didn't do their research or they wouldn't have been so shocked about esports.
No no, the article about you. Those chose a pencil sketch of you instead of an actual photo.
I'm almost certain it is a pencil sketch of a photo they took. Crazy.
Geeze! Why was THIS the photo you guys used? Google "esports", and you get this...pic.twitter.com/ybXogXBuRb
Google "esports players", and you get this... There's ABSOLUTELY NO REASON why THAT should be the photo you guys chose! It really shows your lack of journalistic abilities to do some good damn research!pic.twitter.com/rO7yCnxA1m
I think you need to add another zero.
Just said it the other day to fake news cnn. But what the hell kind of picture is that?! We dont look like that lol
Why use that picture? Are you guys in your 70s? Omg.
What is lost in all of these discussions is the amount of hours "worked" for monies earned. Professional players log in 12-16 hours of game play a day 6-7 days a week. Until you're sponsored there's a ton of equipment and travel costs as well.
I think all of the gaming youtubers/streamers have it rough. I love video games, but I can't play them all day every day. I don't think it would matter even if I'm with friends. If they were my job I wouldn't like it. You might not get much content in the time that you play too.
I would love it Besides It's literally what I do everyday
I totally love what you guys do, but I understand that you could play for twelve hours a day and only end up with maybe two hours of content. You guys have a lot a patience. Especially when it come to games that are supposed to be really hard.
Why. is. it. always. about. the. money??? When are traditional media outlets going to figure out that there are more stories in eSports than "You wont believe how much money people make playing VIDEO GAMES!!!!"
Don't get too frustrated, this is how it starts. The other stories in eSports are irrelevant (to media) until they get headlines, and the only headlines capturing non-gamers are currently about money. It's progress they're reporting anything at all.
I don't know man, it just seems like it's been like this for years now. Also the whole premise of these articles (especially this one) seems to be that competitive gaming is a waste of time.... unless you're making huge money and that that money is disproportionate to the value.
Esports isn't providing any other compelling story lines right now. World record K/D performances? Compelling esport athletes stories? Hell, esports athlete scandals? Those sort of storylines aren't being provided or are compelling yet?
I think that's probably just because people haven't been looking hard enough... they've been too distracted by the money. People don't write about Faker's 22 championship appearances and world championships... they write about his net worth.
Because 22 world championship appearances isn't impressive in a vacuum. Maybe there were 1000 potentials. Maybe only 10 total competitors. The main stream doesn't know the context. But money? Everyone understands that context
Tell them, hey, he won tournaments like this 18 times.pic.twitter.com/AMH5yKxiiD
Instead of telling them, we need to show them. We need centralized statistics centers to track this. Historical records to show the significance of feats versus past players. Hall of fames. It will all come, in time. We hope to aid the first part, at least. For now? Money rules
