In an economy in which traditional labor-intensive jobs vanish in the face of global movement of capital and the benefits of automation, 20th c. conceits about the distribution of society's resources wrt "work" make zero sense. Wealth redistribution is coming one way or another.

Enjoy having zero skills and relying on Government printing fiat. That will end well. Self reliance wins over waiting for a check.

the problem is is that it is often those who are indolent advocating for basic income. why don't i see immigrants in london advocating for it? because they're hard working lads and don't go around looking for excuses to have free money thrown at them

"Free money" is exactly what the 1% collect for themselves personally, and through their corporate structures. No one "earned" that wealth; they acquired and keep it the same way the aristocracy always has. THAT is theft, on almost inconceivable scale, and it's time to undo it.

there're other ways to correct an economy that will be predominately automation. become the engineer? just like how colin clark said economies go from being agricultural to industrial to service based, you don't see many crop pickers do you? progressively people learn to adapt.

Good for him . And once the average folk sink their savings into it, he’ll pull out his money and laugh all the way to the bank.

And that matters why? Bitcoin will continue to rise and grow globally, with or without an investment from Peter Thiel.

It’s a possibility, if it doesn’t bottom out low enough for everyone to panic. For that to happen loads of investors need to come with old fashioned dollars and stay put.
