Before we get into race, which of course is inevitable for some, can we address poverty and its strong correlation with crime? Can we address the circumstances that beget poverty while we are at it?...which might bring us full circle if anyone insists on race dialogue?

You would also have to address the difference between the rural meth epidemic that rarely ends in prison vs urban drug problems that are infinitely more likely to cross paths with the police.

Poor blacks cluster. Poor whites buy a trailer and park it in the woods from prying eyes. Same crime but exponentially harder to enforce the law with poor whites who scatter to the winds.
