There is no reason why local property taxes should be an offset to federal taxes. Now these municipalities that have used the fed deduction as an excuse to raise property tax will have to re-think their strategies. They will have to lower them, as they should.

Exactly, my property taxes are $923 a year, where I used to live they were $5K and I don't have kids in school but I paid for that and a lot of other things I wasn't told about. Property taxes are a money grab by municipalities, now homeowners are going to demand change.

Less is more! Less government means less spending Which means MORE MONEY IN OUR POCKETS!

I hope people aren't trusting these banks to do what's right.

IRS has made clear that only assessed taxes may be prepaid. Most of the bankrupt cities in America (and most ARE insolvent) have not yet figured out how much of their profligate deficits must be plugged by tax increases.
-
Yeah & that disproportionally benefits wealthier. Surprise!
-
Exactly. Who the heck has an 'extra' 10k in the bank they can spare? Not someone needing a tax break thats for sure.

So you mean to tell me that the Democrats are wanting the government to lose money so that states can force their people to take tax loopholes and shelters? How dare they.
-
But they didn't want to pay less taxes a month ago.

Well, since the Banking Cartel is not exactly our friend, try listening to your own thoughts for a change. Trust your instincts.

Most 2018 property taxes cannot be paid early because they haven't been assessed yet
