Don't make them. It's the adults that need to back off.

Maybe the relatives need to be better relatives and come around more often. Maybe I’m just old school like that.

This article feels weird. Some content is common sense, but some feels forced (Like make them help if they don't hug). Respect them as humans. I've found kids have good instincts about bad people with ill intentions. This is a life skill. Pass this along to experts.

Children are not the property of their parents. They should not have to hug anyone they're not comfortable with. Parents - get over it.

I just got back from visiting 3 yr old grandson. I let him take his time warming up to me, plenty of hugs later. And he asked his parents to FaceTime me tonight!

Children tend to respond to the comfort that adults have around each other, it seems to me. If you have a loving family environment they will be more willing to show affection.

Why did you choose a male name? Statistically women are much more likely to molest children. #waronmen

Although women account for more than half of perpetrators of child maltreatment by caretakers, men account for the majority of violence by family members against young children. http://bit.ly/2E2RjOS pic.twitter.com/Cg0ZqSelSE
