This article illustrates how the regulatory burden of the past three decades has disproportionately affected community banks. It's well past time for Washington D.C. to act...for America's rural communities, small businesses and consumers. @POTUS @stevenmnuchin1

Large and small banks are slow to close branches, especially those in rural communities. These are difficult decisions that are made long after branches are no longer profitable.

Increased banking regulations favor larger banks that have the scale to absorb the cost. That’s the cause of this...smh no such thing is free red tape

Great read. Mergers due to over regulation will continue to harm rural economies and dry up small communities. Even if they don’t close the branches, big banks will take the deposits and lend elsewhere, effectively halting commercial and industrial growth.
