streamline the hiring process for seasonal work. every company makes you create 'an account' and fill out a books worth of info (when you could just send in a resume), intense background checks, drug tests (over weed of all things) just to move boxes around for a few weeks.

This might explain why an overnight delivery due last Wednesday arrived 5 days later on Monday. The UPS CSRs were rude and hung up on me when I told them it’s not right to tell customers the package is on the truck for delivery today three days in a row

I'm happy to get my packages post-Xmas because UPS couldn't find sufficient workers in a tight labor market. Glad that people have jobs and, hopefully, higher wages.
