    Twitter didn’t #BringBackOurGirls from Boko Haram. It took secret talks, prisoner swaps and two large bags of cashhttp://on.wsj.com/2kGjeM8

        Twitter is a 'for profit' corporation. When you slow down to pay attention, it doesnt do much other than to promote its own self interest.

        Takeaways: 1) Nigeria’s senior military officials are incredibly incompetent. Even after overwhelming prove of the girls dissapearance, many of them still believed it was a hoax. 2) Jonathan should have shown more political will, the girls could have been released since 2015;

        but the military did not want to “negotiate with terrorist” 3) The Swiss Government were basically the ones responsible for the girls release. God bless them! 4) The girls are incredible! They refusd to convert to Islam even after boko haram promised to release them if they did

        A whole James Bond movie can be made from this story. Secret services, drones, negotiators, big guns, ransoms; the whole freaking package

        The only thing #BBOG, @obyezeks and co did was to increase the ransom paid by telling Shekau to place a high premium on the girls. Kidnapping 101 "let the kidnapper think you place little value on the victim". Talking out of personal experience.

        Twitter helped put pressure on our government to find a way, even if the way wasn't always right. Those girls mean a lot to us than those terrorists.

        Reading this felt like I was in a trance. The experience of those girls are unimaginable. I’m glad they had psychological evaluation and treatment. I pray those released are able to come out of the harrowing experience unscathed and the others released ASAP. #BringBackOurGirls

        The value of #BBOG was in keeping the problem in the public eye. Without that, the Nigerian gov might not have bothered with negotiations, cd've just forgotten the girls.
