They believed Slender Man was real, and were 12 years old at the time of the crime. I’m not saying it’s fair, but there are some serious extenuating circumstances. They both could use some intense psychological help.

Not really. 2 1/2 years required inpatient hospitalization. The rest of the time she will be released with a supervisor so basically parole.
@WSJ didn't do a good job explaining the sentencing

25 years?? Plenty of people get less than that for actual murder. She's 16. This makes no sense.

Nope. Inpatient for 2 1/2 years. 22 years of release with supervision which is basically parole except no threat of jail. WSJ did a poor job with detailing the sentence
