        So it's all time deficits instead of planned surplus..and to be sure neither in 1981 nor in 2001 unemployment wasn't at historic lows like now-so you could employ the jobless and collect new taxes to compensate for fall in general tax level+ USAhasnow already budget deficits

        I don't get how people do not understand this by now. If you cut money away from the government then...they won't have enough. We have TRILLIONS in debt and now TRILLIONS in deficit, how in the world do they expect to pay both off by cutting back revenue? Magic?

        Sales tax---commodities ebb/flow---supply/demand fluctuations sure, but when those corporate "savings" never get passed down to the consumer....and you and I know they won't; what happens then? Debt, debt, debt, more debt while the filthy rich laugh all the way to the bank.
