Can we stop calling trains that can travel 80 mph fast trains? They are early 20th-Century contraptions.

The author's only suggestion is to slap tolls on existing roads to reduce the number of cars on them. What else would you expect from the WSJ?

This kind of unnecessary accident will be multiplied many times over now that regulations have been decimated. Thank you Trump.

Doesn't matter how great the trains or the tracks if the engineer decides to go 80mph around a 30mph curve. No matter how great track or locomotive is, there will always be curves and the need to slow down on them.

Glad you clarified that. Never would have figured that out.

Brand new track requires a 50mph slow down? That pretty poor design.

Half assed assumptions. Stick to your dry cleaning business. Thanks in advance.

You need to ween yourself away from automobiles. In Chicago and New York, your position would seem rather silly and dare I say...stupid. Rail is almost always faster than driving....you just have to be more discrete when you pick your nose.
