Without FCC rules, tech and media giants are free to consolidate, upsell and—hopefully—build more pipelines to increase competitionhttp://on.wsj.com/2oAmygf

WSJ - this headline is disturbingly misleading, and you should be ashamed of yourselves for sinking this low.

Like how Ma Bell voluntarily built out more competition and services when they were the only game in town? Was that how it all happened?

You are right. Throttling was super awesome. It only makes sense to let an ISP block content.

Doesn't take more than a second (it will soon...) on google to find that Comcast was throttling bittorrent 2005-2007 https://www.cnet.com/news/fcc-formally-rules-comcasts-throttling-of-bittorrent-was-illegal/ … http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/10/19/AR2007101900842.html … But you are into #freedom, so maybe you dont care.

They broke the law. So-called net neutrality actually allowed them to do that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_neutrality_in_the_United_States …

"In August 2008, the FCC made its first Internet network management decision. It voted 3-to-2 to uphold a complaint against Comcast" See the date "2008" and the word "first". We made the laws as a reaction to prevent that mess again in the future, as most laws are made.
