If carriers we're to block or throttle content, they would only invite companies like Apple, Facebook and Google to get into their business. These companies have far, far greater capitalization and cash than carriers do.

That doesn’t particularly do anything about the problem created by the repeal of net neutrality. Just because a few companies are in a strong position from which to negotiate access prices, doesn’t correct the destruction of the open market on the internet.
