Tell me about it. I lose an IQ point every time I sign in to Twitter and two every time I tweet.

Yes, but... it's really easy to live in my bubble of rational thinking. I come to social media, Twitter specifically, to be reminded. We cannot forget the batshit crazy illogical garbage other people believe, lest we are lulled into complacency. Surprised when things fall apart.

You're absolutely right. I had just tweeted about finding Milo Yiannopoulos beneath consideration, but in the back of my mind I was thinking that it's exactly the kind of forces that he represents that have to be addressed.

Milo is a parody of...I'm not even sure. But I'm convinced everything about him is an act, & I can't understand how everyone doesn't see that. Are Christian conservatives so far outta touch that they believe a misogynistic white supremacist gay man in pearls represents them?

I truly am mystified. Is the gay okay because he likes Nazi free-speech and says he'd never hire a homosexual or a woman because they are too much unreliable emotional drama for the workplace? He has suggested that gay children should sexually experiment with older gay men...

I won’t hold my breath. Just like cigarette companies. In the end it’s about money. Whatever they say or do, it’s about repositioning and making sure the money keeps coming. Facebook and others are as toxic to our mental health as are cigarette companies to our physical health.

Facebook’s former vice president of growth, Chamath Palihapitiya, made even starker comments at a talk at Stanford University. “The short-term, dopamine-driven feedback loops that we have created are destroying how society works,” Mr. Palihapitiya said at an event last month.
