When student loans through the Dept of Ed are being charged at 6-8% interest, it's no wonder. You can home loans for half that. Crooked

Been there done that. My 1980s $13,000 loan turned out to cost me $35,000. Thanks to the DeVos type collection agencies that add on astronomical fees!! Don't let this happen to our kids!
-
I had to file BK 6 yrs ago b/c of recession/job elimination. Loans went from $45 to $96k during deferment period. I'm f'd now. Worse off.
-
The deferment plan is the killer! Keeping America as stupid as possible. Making a college education so expensive very few can attend. This needs to stop.

And cut student loan interest in half so a $45k loan doesn't turn into $96k in a four year deferment period. Such bullshit.

My wife and I both paid our debts!! Who are the people who thinks it’s ok not to pay them???
-
People who got a worthless degree
-
Yes, that’s correct! That’s there fault! With every investment you expect a return! Also, you RESEARCH your investment!
-
So 'there' fault as in the government that's 'there' supplying the loan and the fraudulent for profit school that's 'there' also... and not 'their' fault as in the students/borrowers, then yes I agree with you.pic.twitter.com/2D3r2iA0ZO

I don’t believe its the governments fault! When one enters into a contractual agreement, terms are outlined, ONE MaKES A CHOICE to EXCEPT terms and agreement by signing.
-
Meaning, not other tax payers burden or an entitlement, yet, ONES sole responsibility to repay to the GOVERNMENT as outlined and agreed upon by ones signature!! No other way aRound it! That’s contractual agreement. Am I correct???
-
Those "schools" went bankrupt for being FRAUDS. Why should they have to honor loans to fraudulent schools and worthless degrees?
-
Ok, yes, non accredited schools shouldn’t be even be allowed to receive tax payer money.

My liberal friends were thrilled when Obama drove out private banks and let feds take over student loans industry. Now we have another losing program that tax payer will subsidize. After 60 years Soviet Russia we still haven't learned these lessons
-
These liberals were gonna get rid of student loans until your conservative took office.
-
Sure, they make everything free. Nobody has to pay for anything. That is what happened in health insurance after Obamacare.
-
Hey you wanna pay go ahead. I don't. I want this billionaire to pay up
-
While you are at it, ask for a free lunch too!
-
Ok give me a free lunch too
