Far fewer homes on Puerto Rico might have been damaged if more of them had been built to codehttp://on.wsj.com/2AxHfvA

Again, how political corruption amongst elitist espousing "do-goodery" actually has opposite consequences.

#duh. They would’ve had food, water and generators, too, if they had planned for hurricanes by storing them in proper shelters. This is squarely on the PR leadership. Sad for her citizens

Corruption and lack of oversight always the reason for such problems! The electrical grid is the perfect example! Shipping companies also were Teamster rip offs!

Stop blaming Puerto Rico and perhaps if trumps golf course hadn’t went bankrupt they would be so short of cash

It is extremely unfortunate for Puerto Rico that building codes were not enforced given what has happened this past hurricane season. So much of this destruction could have been easily avoided if laws were followed. #RebuildPR #doitrightthistime

@NYGovCuomo So, NYers tax dollars fix the problems caused by illegal building practices. How much graft/bribe money crossed hands to allow these buildings to go up? You don’t care, you’re buying votes.
