and a truly radical idea: hire CEO’s who are daughters...

Hire female CEOs. Hire black/brown CEOs.
-
Or hire just based on merit/experience/plans for the company and not identity?
-
In an ideal world, yes. But the world is not ideal, yet. Implicit bias is real.

Or, you could hire decent men of integrity.

It is sad that it takes a close personal relationship and concern about her future for a CEO to be more socially responsible. I guess little girls can make change after all!

Or hire/promote/support women to leadership roles? I dunno, just seems... sensible??

Assuming men treat their daughters well is a stretch. Hire women.

Alternate title: CEOs decisions shaped by whether or not they view women as humans

From the article:"Having a daughter isn’t the only factor shaping how CEOs act, but “it’s an important factor,” he says." While I can see the effect of having a daughter can change someone, I also wonder if these CEOs with families and children in general are more sympathetic
-
People with children would, I'd believe, have more incentive to plan better for the future, which might improve their long-term visions and strategy for the company
-
That is what I would think as well. It may not be just about having a daughter, but having a child in general can change your priorities and outlook on life.

As an HR professional, I'd be interested to know how you secure an applicants family information without breaking the law?

As a parent and the President of a law firm, its hard to go to work every day and not imagine what life will be like for your daughters in the same role.
