I respect the Christian bakers right to refuse to bake a gay wedding cake & respect the right of a gay printer to refuse to produce an anti-gay banner. It has to go both ways. Pun intended.

Just put a sign in front of Your establishment, "We have the right to refuse service to anyone"! Then do not tell the customers, "WHY"!Easy!
-
Businesses can refuse service, but they cannot discriminate. There has to be a valid reason to refuse service not just because the customer is gay.
-
1-Business cannot refuse (in my example) basic service, such as a pre-made cup-cake or photocopies. However the cake or banner requires the merchant utilities their unique skill & time. Hence, the merchant may choose to take on a given project at their discretion....
-
But they cannot discriminate based on sexual orientation
-
That’s not discrimination on sexual orientation. Again, if he said I won’t sell you a cupcake because you’re gay....yes that is discrimination. If however he says I am not going to take this specialist project on, irrespective of reason, he is absolutely in his right.
-
That’s exactly what he said.

Hey Gay Couples if this baker didn't want to bake you a cake , you know you can try another bakery! It is America there is more than one bakery!
-
Um yeah... I’m sure they missed that sign in the window saying “Heterosexual Wedding Cakes Only.”pic.twitter.com/WlbS6fegHu
-
Um, just go to ANOTHER bakery!
-
Just ride another bus! Just drink from a different fountain! Just stay at home and take care of the kids!
-
What side of history are you on? Respect for all humans or only those that you’re familiar with?
-
EXACTLY! Respect for all humans, if the guy doesn't want to bake you a cake, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! We live in a Capitalist society
-
To what end? Your argument is that discrimination is okay based on race? Size? Gender? Religion? Sexual orientation, etc? If a business can decide who to serve isn’t that what segregation was all about? Please clarify what you mean.

People have used the Bible to justify discrimination against “mixed” marriages. Against Black people and to support slavery. The Bible should not be used as an excuse to justify hurting your fellow human.

So, then next step after refusing a gay couple is refusing a Jew because it's against religious beliefs to do business with someone who doesn't believe the same? Where does it end?
-
If a Jew celebrates sabbath on Fri. can you require he work for you because you celebrate on Sun. or do you work out an accommodation where both your needs are met? Why must one have precedence over the other?
