Opinion: There is very little to suggest Democrats benefit politically from sitting out this tax debate, writes @KimStrasselhttp://on.wsj.com/2AiyBD8

"sitting out"? how about more accurately "cut out and ignored"

It shows nothing but their continued unwillingness to work FOR the people that elected them vs from a philosophy that states “The government knows what’s best for you” (Direct quote by @WhipHoyer at an Anti-Obamacare rally he tried to sell to in his district).

The Democrats offered to work WITH the Republicans on bipartisan tax reform at the beginning of this process. All they asked was for a bill that doesn't deliver tax cuts to the wealthy and isn't financed by deficits. The Rs told them to kick rocks.

You mean when he was dealing with the Republicans who wouldn't support his corporate tax cut proposals right? Those crickets? So interesting that Rs now it's vital to cut corp taxes now to jumpstart economy for working families, but passed on it for yrs 🤔 https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/03/27/business/dealbook/trump-corporate-tax-cuts.html …pic.twitter.com/kP9Moue6wk

I think there are plenty of reasons to oppose a 500 page tax bill that was passed in the dead of night by senators who didn’t even read it. Especially since we know they’ll benefit... but a lot of normal people won’t!

There's no point in even trying to participate since the Rs have the majority. They were shut out anyway.

Agree! A significant self-inflicted political wound - should have had a dozen or more Dems programmed to vote in favor so they wont look like selfish obstructionists & on the wrong side, deserving no credit, if the economy now does what the economists predict!!
