¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Elizabeth Warren would have been running the Agency, but she could not get 60 votes in the Senate. GOP held up Rich Cordray's Nomination for 2 years. Dodd-Frank outlines the Agency's succession, which complies w/ the Vacancies Act. Facts. They're stubborn things.

Shoddy reporting! Untrue! Agency set up to be impartial. New head has to be spproved by Congress- interim appointment is assistant. Murdoch shill. Old WSJ was way better- glad I stopped subscription. Garbage reporting, did u get this from Breitbart!

Thank you for FINALLY realizing what’s going on here, WSJ, after all the harm your editorial board has done under the Trump coup. You have a lot of work to do to redeem yourselves.

Keep this up and I may be tempted to subscribe again. I do so miss Taranto, Rago (and others) and wonder if the Murdochs won't eventually run this thing to ground with their family nepotism.

This article is a distortion. The agency was set up to be impartial- acting director appoints new director, until congress can approve new one. WSJ- this is shoddy reporting. Murdoch shills, can’t wait to see what Koch’s due to Time

When things lurch to the left, all is good. When they rewind rightward it qualifies as a coup? #nobsense

If the House and Senate want to change the structure of that legislation, change it...they have the votes. But a clear reading of the law shows that the coup attempt is Mulvaney, not the other way around 2/2

This is a demonstrably false and generally weak analysis. The CFPB statute specifically allowed for the successor to be named, the vacancies act only gives that right to the POTUS *unless otherwise specified in legislation*. 1/
