Not only China's tech giants, American techs too. Apple handed all their users data to Chinese government several months ago! Cisco, and others provide techs so that China can build the GFW and monitor Chinese .

Chinese Govt will not allow American Tech companies to sell in the country unless they adhere to their policy. It’s the Chinese Govt that is overreaching.

Not defending anything, but ALL countries ask companies to adhere to local laws if they want to make business there. If they think the laws are evil, just take their business elsewhere.

Right. That's why nobody is blaming those companies which helped Nazi German, Chines and other Communist Party to kill people! Business has no soul and their owners have no soul either!

This is one of the most important stories on the planet. 1 billion people are living in a society that is designed to suppress freedom with insidious & diabolical precision. The Chinese people deserve democracy—it isn’t perfect but it isn’t the totalitarian evil they face 2day.

We bicker and bicker about mistakes and injustices that, in the scheme of things, can be fixed relatively quickly. They’re building the biggest tool for suppressing human freedom in world history.

Ummm ... yeah, and also, your RoboVac is spying on you, sending your WiFi password & a map of your home back to Beijing. Exhibit A of the need for clear tech/data standards in the CleanTech sphere, among others.https://twitter.com/CleanApp/status/950791307735289856 …

Yeah, we can't do this in the USA. It's illegal and enforced. China though, has banned 14 million people from enrolling their kids in school, taking buses, getting loans, buying houses, or traveling for saying things negative about the CCP or Xi.

Literally hundreds of millions of ethnic minorities have been rounded up by Xi and placed in re-education camps because of their religions.
